Re: The Teacher's Series, Shoud 8 given by Tobias through Geoffrey Hoppe, March 3rd, 2007

Revised Thursday, 3/22/07

Welcome to this month's Insights. Tobias covered a lot of ground and touched on many topics this month so let's not compromise and jump right in. There is once again, a great deal of ground to cover here. Do enjoy the ride.

"Ultimately it's all about self-discovery"

Tobias pointed out that our main reason for coming to earth as angels in human form is to re-discovery ourselves, really in a whole new way. Simple if not very obvious. The way that we have gone about living for centuries if not millennia has been in a search of general discovery - which has tended to be for the most part about things "outside" ourselves. We have done this very much in a manner as if we acquired amnesia from the moment we were born. As we are one with Spirit (you are God also) this self-rediscovery process is dynamic and self-reflexive - a mirroring process (recall our previous discussions of palindromes and near-palindromes). It is fundamentally about the journey experience itself since said journey is never-ending.

For eons of time in fact, Kabbalah has taught that this is indeed the case - the life essence imparted to us is of the nature of self-discovery and reflection. Legends tell us that before we are born into this world, all of the knowledge, wisdom and understanding concerning the workings of the system in creation are part and parcel of our angelic nature which we consciously recognize. This includes (apropos of the Teacher Series) all the "teachings" about the system in creation which Kabbalists classically refer to using the one-word Hebrew label Torah - which is usually construed as "Teaching." I intentionally wrote this word with a capital T because we're referring here to the "Executive Level" variety. And here we are in the midst of the Teacher Series. Coincidence? ;-)

Within Judaism Torah refers to the Pentateuch - the Five Books of Moses - Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy - the Hebrew Scriptures (the Bible), or erroneously referred to in general by the Gentile world as the "old testament" (implying its replacement by the later New Testament). There is a Jewish consensus view that Moses himself is believed to have actually scribed these five books after the revelatory experience of the nascent Jewish nation (population at the time between 600,000 and 2 million) at Mt. Sinai around the year 1300 BCE. This experience (which included the presentation of the Decalogue - the Ten Words or Commandments) is known in Jewish tradition as the "giving of the law" - and was intended not just for those who were present at that time and place, but for all souls who ever hear, read and/or take the words into their hearts without regard to time or place.

To the student and teacher of Kabbalah, Torah takes on an even wider scope of significance. The scribed animal parchment of a Torah scroll is a physical instantiation of a primordial, metaphysical (we might use the term "virtual" today) Torah. This latter sense of the Torah is understood as a non-physical repository of the "floor plans" of all of creation - including the creation process itself. It is a huge, "intelligent database" that is the framework and foundation of all that was, is and will be. This includes as well all the commentaries by the rabbis that took place over a 600 to 900 year period beginning around the first century CE (this includes the Talmud, an encyclopedic work of some 63 volumes alone, and the few surviving Kabbalah texts that happen to have been scribed - most were not). Legend has it that Spirit "downloaded" all of these into Moses when he was up there on the "hill" (we know that Sinai was not the tallest mountain in the region even though we're still not quite sure which of them was the actual one).

Kabbalah maintains that God establishes this blueprint as a guide to creation specifically for the benefit of us angelic divine humans who are Her full partners in the omniversal creation enterprise. This blueprint however is not separate from God. It is Spirit-Light (Ain Soph Ohr) infused. Thus, according to the Kabbalistic view, the word Torah is a type of code word for the complete workings of what we'll refer to as "the System in Creation." In essence, Torah is a direct reflection of "the mind of God." We can use another word to describe this reflection - Consciousness with a capital C!

The stories that we are familiar with from the Hebrew scriptures (the Bible) - stories about remarkable individual's lives and the history of the Jewish people - in a sense are analogous to the outer skin of an onion. Underneath this outer layer (of the stories and the history) are many more layers and levels of information, knowledge and wisdom, some that have yet to be "mined." Each one is as important as the one before it and the one after. That outer layer - the story level - is certainly a critically important one regarding our human experiences here on earth. It is very much like a psychology text with many lessons that still wholeheartedly apply to our present world. But even so, it's as equally important to be aware that there is so much more information present in deeper levels of these works. That is one important reason why the Torah is read in a continous yearly cycle each Saturday morning in every synagogue and Temple throughout the world.

Kabbalah asserts that before we are born into this world, we are all completely familiar with all these layers/levels of meaning of Torah. But legend has it that just before we emerge from the birth canal, an angel slaps us on the mouth (causing the notch in our upper lip) and we then acquire a kind of amnesia, thus forgetting all the Torah we knew prior to birth. As Tobias said, we have experienced many many lifetimes from "the back side of the donkey", facing the other way. Life does tend to be elusive from that "ass-backwards" perspective ;-) Until now, whatever we've accomplished as humans has pretty much been by "backing-into" it!

Kabbalah tells us that our earthly mission is to remember Torah all over again in this life (it in a sense represents a path for returning or reconnecting with Spirit). Remembering Torah is equivalent to remembering the truth of who we are - physical embodiments of Spirit here on earth. Seems like a bit of a joke being played on us, but we Shaumbra understand that we are not the victim of tricks being played on us - unless we so choose to be. Actually it is more a type of game we have decided to play with Spirit.

Why would we do this? - sure seems repetitive and wasteful to relearn "stuff" we already well know - doesn't it? Well Kabbalah tells us that this is similar to a fun game many of us played as kids - hide and go seek. We set this game up with ourselves as part and parcel of the endlessly expansional nature of the system in creation of which we are an integral part. Every time we play this game it's a little different and we experience a whole new level of fun each time.

In a very real sense the Torah as virtual blueprint of All That Is, is a form of autobiography of Spirit (in fact there is an idea that the entire text of the Torah is the longest name of Spirit we know of) - and as we are one with Spirit - it is indeed our autobiography as well. So the journey of self-discovery that Tobias spoke about is very similar if not identical to what Kabbalah has taught in this regard for roughly a thousand years.

So what has changed between "then and now" in this regard? The change of course is that we are shifting into a new time - a time of renewed awarenesses - particularly of the "real" reasons we have incarnated oh so many times before, believing we came in to discover everything "out there" - outside of us. The difference now is that we've awakened from our amnestic slumber to realize that we no longer have to go through physical death to "return home" where all our remembrances were safely stored away for us until our return. All of it is available right here and now, simply for the asking, while we are in human form. Time now to "leave behind the rearview" from that donkey saddle and face life fully frontally.

The system view of astrology and beginning conditions

Astrology is a prime example of a nonlinear dynamical system - in particular a chaotic one. As Tobias pointed out, many of us in our lifetimes have been led to believe that astrology is determinative of our future - that astrology sets up a certain preordained inevitability of certain events - and therefore that it rules us. Actually, astrology sets up certain potentials for one in their life which they can choose to explore - in that way it is a tool that when correctly used can provide tremendous benefits and opportunities.

In a so-called chaotic system one can write down a series of mathematical relations that describes the behavior of the system. A typical example is the dynamics of the turbulent flow of river water near some rocks. We've all witnessed this phenomenon. If you look close at this the flow patterns appear to be quite chaotic and complicated. But if one steps back and looks at the "big picture" of the entire flow pattern it is restricted to a region around the rocks - the turbulence only goes out so far into the river itself. One does not observe the turbulent flow extending out into the river over time for example - unless perhaps if the water flow rate happens to be increasing - like in a rain deluge. But now if you walked down river a little bit to another group of rocks - you would observe a somewhat different turbulent water flow pattern even though the general behavior of the water around the rocks is similar to that near the previous group of rocks.

The rock-water pattern is therefore similar to the circumstances of one's conception and birth with respect to astrology. Each individual has their own unique set of initial baseline conditions which makes available another set - of potentials to choose from compared to somebody else. Yet the general laws of how the system works apply universally to all. In Kabbalistic astrology as well, there are certain days and times where specific potentials are available for us to tap into by virtue of their conscious awareness and their choice to open a certain available gateway and "enter in."

There's at least one such day every week - the Sabbath - that provides us with a prime opportunity to go beyond time, space, and anything that exists in our everyday 4 dimensional reality. It is an opportunity to access the Endless Light in the Eternal Now moment. This opportunity is available to us always with our choice to expand our consciousness. The Sabbath is a symbolic reminder of these truths. Thus astrology can be viewed as providing opportunities to expand our creatorship, rather than as a pre-determinative, pre-ordained "albatross around our necks" that victimizes us in a karmic sense.

One foot in the old, one in the new energy

We straddle two worlds as Tobias pointed out - one foot in old energy, one in the new. It is hard on the body and we need triple R (rest, relaxation and rejuvenation) from time to time. As we discussed in a previous article, there are four basic worlds in Kabbalah - the worlds of physical action or making (Assiyah), the world of formation (Yetzirah), the world of creation (Beriyah) and the world of emanation or nearness (Atziluth), in the ascension order of full physical/material to pure Spirit. However, the "descension" order, from Atziluth to Assiyah is just as important as the ascension path. In fact the descension process is the birth transition process we spoke about just before - relearning Torah, the self-discovery process, all over again.

We are here now to merge the two processes - "Bottom-up/top down" - bringing together the four worlds (along with the old and the new) as symbolized by the merged, inverted triangles of the Star of David. We are bridging heaven and earth. This is the symbolic meaning behind the story of Jacob's ladder - Jacob falls asleep using a rock for a pillow and dreams that he sees a ladder reaching toward heaven with angels going up and down on it. It has been very hard work for ages, but now there is an easier road available if we so choose. Our consciousness makes the difference, along with the shift into these New Energy times.

Grounded in this reality, yet expanded beyond it

When we discussed the significance of the famous name of Spirit Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh (Shoud 6 Insights) we said that it equally can mean "I Am That I Am", "I Am That I Will Be" and "I Will be That I Will be." The first interpretation (a commonly used one) refers to the "field of beingness" itself - that Spirit is eternal - beyond time and place, the unmoved, immutable ground state of all existence. It also captures the essence of self-discovery because it is palindromic - it refers to itself or mirrors itself!

The second translation "I Am That I Will Be" captures the idea that this immutable state of "is-ness" not only mirrors itself inwardly but ever expands outwardly like circular ripples of water after a pebble is dropped into a lake. It also involves the concept of The Will - " ..I Will.." Spirit is characterized by (among many things) The Will which is symbolized in Kabbalah by a Queen or King's crown. The crown is a symbol of the self-sovereignty of each one of the royal couple! What does self-sovereignty mean? The founding fathers of the United States of America (several of whom were aware of Kabbalah) put it well in the Declaration of Independence - "we hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal …." The crown of course also symbolizes one who is anointed by Spirit to lead and serve the people! To lead is to serve and to serve is to lead.

Because each one of us is infused with Spirit - that is, anointed to lead and to serve, we too wear a royal crown on our heads as Kabbalah teaches. In the Etz Chaim - the Tree of Life - the uppermost energy center - sefirot - is named Keter which means "crown." It is the pinnacle point connecting humanity and divinity.

Thus we are coronated by Spirit with the crown of self-sovereignty with appropriate self-esteem and love. This understanding is critically important for all peoples, but arguably no more so than for teenagers - those in a most fragile developmental period in their lives, who are incredibly sensitive to comparison with their peers and who tend to be so self-conscious about their abilities/capabilities while having distorted conceptions of who they truly are. If each one of these teens realized how special they are unto themselves, the world and Spirit I dare say so much strife in this world would disappear (Shaumbra education specialists please take note)!

We wear a crown not so we can brag about how great we are - it does not give us permission to toot our horn (well maybe tooting is ok as long as we don't blow real hard - sorry Kuthumi ;-)). It does give us permission to take full responsibility for who we are - one with Spirit - true love incarnated on earth. One who has been entrusted or graced with a crown assumes the privilege of serving all other living entities, the world and the entire omniverse!

The last translation of Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh "I Will Be That I Will Be" relates to the accelerated expansion of the expansion of the Eternal - sort of like "expansion squared." It is a reaffirmation of the essential nature of Spirit - not that that is needed in any sense. It is more a statement of "the only thing that remains the same in truth is change itself." This translation captures the essential nature of the accelerated expansion of consciousness that is particularly taking place these days.

"Chaos and void" is the default condition of the omniverse - but don't worry, this is "all good"!

Tobias mentioned that we are experiencing a great deal of energy imbalance right now in our physical heart. Our bodies are a complex, intricate network of interacting energies functioning on many levels and frequencies (more on waves and frequencies another time). No question that the heart resides at the functional center of this network. All the physical organs of our body operate on electromagnetic-biochemical energetic principles. What is the so-called electromagnetic spectrum? It is the light energy spectrum. We know that physical light always exists in the presence of a coupled "field" - an electric field and a magnetic field which travels through space at right angles to each other. What is a field? It is a fabric-like energy entity that extends invisibly across dimensionality such as 4D space and time ("spacetime").

Energy is intimately related to another concept that is equally "untouchable" - that of information. Energy carries information, and information gives "birth" or rise to energy. Information is communicated energetically - it can be sent (transmitted) and received. A concrete example of this is fiberoptic cable - the normal conduit used today for communication of most telephonic "land-line" signals. This uses direct light, rather than the flow of electrons (electricity) as its information-carrying medium (see more articles about this and related topics right here).

The very essence of Kabbalah is about the reception/acceptance of information. Both information and energy however do not necessarily have to be transmitted (sent somewhere) in order for them to be received. That's because they are both ubiquitous - they are everywhere throughout all of creation making up the very fabric of what we refer to as consciousness. The latter is called by many names such as the field, universal mind, cosmic consciousness, Christ consciousness, The Endless Light, and others.

In the opening chapter of the Book of Genesis we note that just before the very first thing that Spirit calls into existence there is "something" already present (there's that paradox again). What is "it"? It is the "nothingness" or as it is put - "the darkness and void." The Hebrew refers to this as tohu v'vohu (pronounced toh-hoo va voh-hoo - notice this is near palindromic) - roughly translated as "chaos and void." So before Spirit brings into the world "order" by proclaiming "Let there be light!" there was nothing but "nothing" - except for disorder, chaos, darkness, untruth and maybe death. But as we discussed extensively in the December Insights article "nothin' ain't nothin'"! In fact, over the last 50 years or so science has "re-discovered" the true significance of this very ancient notion embodied within the phrase tohu v'vohu.

Orderly Light to the rescue

In quantum physics, scientists have come to an understanding that no true void of nothingness actually exists. Energy is everywhere - there is no place in the omniverse where energy - and hence information - is not. Clearly this is a corollary of the Kabbalistic notion that there is no place that Spirit is not (embodied completely in the watchword of the Jewish faith "Hear O Israel - The Lord our God, The Lord is One"). We have just not looked in the right way, with the right instruments or in the right places to "see" this quite yet. In quantum physics we now understand the profound implications of a well-known physics principal (we discussed this in January) - that of energy existing in potentia that may be tapped into and utilized in our 4D everyday reality.

Along with this was the realization of the existence of virtual energy-matter particles. These exist in multi- or hyperdimensional reality that we do not always observe in 4D. Yet these particles of energy-matter are no less real than the elements listed in the periodic table (remember high school chemistry?) and can become manifest in 4D under certain conditions, for example as a result of experiments in large particle accelerators such as the CERN in Geneva. The so-called "void" is completely filled with energy, both virtual and manifest energy-matter particles. Physicists refer to this enormous energy source as the "quantum foam" or the quantum vacuum energy. One key to understanding all this is the notion that "reality" consists of negative and positive versions of energy and of particles, both virtual and classical (the regular, everyday kind).

Zero point energy, dark energy and matter

This applies to energy (positive and negative) as well as energy-matter particles of all types (all subject to Einstein's E = mc2 law). So just because one uses a particular apparatus and measures zero energy does not mean there is no energy present! It just means that the total energy flux (positive plus negative sources) sums to zero at that point. Thus another term that has been used in recent years to describe this phenomenon is "zero point energy" (ZPE). If one could figure out how to separate the positive energy from the negative then they theoretically could tap into and utilize this highly abundant ZPE.

No question there is a race ongoing today - by certain companies and governments to figure out how to tap into ZPE with a net positive production of energy that requires little or no renewal from sources that tap into fossil fuels (and that would therefore increase carbon emissions - greenhouse gases). This is referred to as "over unity" production of energy - the outflow exceeds the total amount of energy required to obtain this net positive outflow. The abundance of ZPE all around us means that self-sustaining energy production from a virtually unlimited source is available to us as soon as the right technologies appear - that time is now.

It is also interesting to note the discovered existence of so-called dark energy and matter. Cosmologists now understand that most matter and energy in the universe (over 96 percent!) is of these two varieties (only about 4 percent of all energy and matter in the universe is of the "regular" type we interact with in everyday life. Dark energy and matter cannot be detected directly by our present telescope technology but we know they exist based on inference from the estimated size of the universe and the measured amount of matter that is observable.

When Spirit declares "Let there be light!" clearly this light was much more than "mere" physical light. After all it was not until the third day that Spirit creates daylight and the stars - which emit physical light. This metaphysical light - "illumination" - is clearly identified with Ain Soph Ohr - the Endless Light emanating from/of Spirit. Spirit brings this light in juxtaposed to tohu v-vohu. That is, this act is the bringing into the world of order.

For the most part today we take this event for granted (as we do much of life), yet I must say, this is special - as we once again are coming to realize as a society. What this is pointing to is that disorder and chaos are the default mode or "groundstate" of the omniverse and that Spirit brings in order in the form of Light first and foremost to oppose it and to serve as the antidote of/for it.

Entropy and the second law of thermodynamics

According to physics the so-called second law of thermodynamics says that time has an "arrow" that moves in the direction of constantly increasing omniversal disorder. The word "entropy" is used to describe this phenomenon. The summated entropy of the universe is thus ever-increasing and as it does, so does the disorder of the universe.

This is characterized by the big bang explosion followed by the ever-outwardly expanding universe. Just before the big bang, the temperature and energy of the tiny seed that exploded was huge. Following the big bang, as expansion continues, the temperatures continuously drop. The second law states that eventually the universe will suffer a "heat death" meaning that all energy will have been dissipated (temperature of the universe will arrive at absolute zero degrees).

Life processes of course are characterized by the presence of dynamically fluctuating energy and information. If one becomes sufficiently hypothermic (their core temperature drops precipitously) they will be categorized as either "dead", in a state of suspended animation, or simply lifeless. Therefore, logically, the life force itself is characterized by a positive increase in orderliness - or negative entropy (entropy decreasing).

Thus by Spirit performing the first act of "omniversal light filling" (remember the Hebrew word used - bara - means to fill or fatten, rather than the abstract - to create - which Hebrew has no separate word for) this is really the primary bringing into the omniverse of the animating life force energy itself.

Recall that the gematria of the Hebrew words:

Ohr - light = 207 - a 9 energy
Yirah - flow = 216 - a 9 energy
Shefa - abundance = 450 - a 9 energy
Emet - Truth = 441 - a 9 energy

So we see that the second act of creation is to fill the universe with the orderly, truthful, flow of the life force energy! As discussed before, the very first act is the "carving" out of a finite space that will hold what is to fill it! This is Spirit reflecting upon Itself thereby withdrawing from Itself to create a womb that will hold creation. Next, the space is filled with Ain Soph Ohr.

The heart of the tree

It is the heart that is at the very center of this entire creation process - and as we discussed previously the heart of the Tree of Life - is the sefirah called Tiferet - beauty. The following quote from Albert Einstein, from his 1931 book entitled The World As I See It comes to mind here: "The most beautiful experience we can have is that of the mysterious. It is the fundamental emotion that stands at the cradle of true art and true science."

Recall that the Tree of Life is the energy-information network model of who we are - created in the image and similitude of Spirit - made of Spirit's virtual DNA. The functional center of the Tree is the heart of beauty through which this life-force energy flows throughout the entire Tree. When that yirah - that flow - is not balanced, for example when a sefirah is inhibited or suppressed somehow, or the channels interconnecting two or more of them are "clogged up" then some sefirot may not be receiving the energy-information necessary to maintain an overall balance.

Rebalancing the energies in the center - the heart - will go a long way toward restoring the overall energy functioning of the Tree of Life network (as well as another related, yet separate body system - the chakras). Kabbalistic healing facilitated by a rofeh (note similarity to the name Raphael - meaning "healer of God") - one who assists another with their own healing - seeks to rebalance the entire Tree of Life network - to unclog any energy blockages in its 10 sefirot and 22 interconnecting pathways, followed by rebalancing and reintegrating all its myriad potentials and energies. Here is a conceptual schematic diagram of the Tree of Life … Tree of Life

We will continue discussing this model over time, but for now, notice there are three vertical columns (referred to as pillars) that make up the Tree. The two outside pillars represent positive and negative existence respectively (irrelevant which one is which - just a convention, although the left pillar represents the Divine feminine and right masculine) and the middle pillar represents the balanced or neutral energy (ZPE!). The three columns function together in a manner so as to maintain a dynamic balance among them. What does this mean? Well it does not mean that at ALL times the three are precisely balanced. Rather, it means that the overall objective or intent of the system is to strive for balance or to move to become balanced on average. Yet if a static, fixed balance is ever achieved and maintained indefinitely, then this is the "no life" process - absolute rest or death! Life (the life force) means not exactly maintaining the zero point all the time. Remember again Saint-Germain discussing that if we no longer actualize potentials into manifest existence we will die (but don't worry, death is not a permanent state anyway ;-))!

Imagine two children playing on a see-saw (does anybody do this anymore?). Obviously their objective is not to maintain the neutral horizontal position all the time. They may try to do this for some short period, but clearly they will want to see-saw up and down at least for some of the time! During that time if we added together the number of "ups" and the number of "downs" they will be the same. The ups neutralize, cancel or balance out the downs, so that the overall activity of the see-saw is zero. Even so, the children still have fun! When I was a kid playing on a see-saw I remember some of my bully-ish friends would get me in the up position and keep me trapped there for a while - occasionally they would quickly get off the saw-see and I would come crashing down (good for building up the gluteus maximus muscles ;-)) - clearly an unbalanced, pathological situation (I did manage to get my revenge once or twice - ha ha)!

When one of the outside pillared sefirot is "clogged" with respect to the opposite side, it's similar to my being trapped in the up position on that see-saw. The opposite sided sefirot is sort of overcompensating - it is relatively over-energized. The "fix" would be to first gently bring its energy down to match that of the opposite sefirot. This involves a triad of sefirot. Let's take for example the middle three sefirot of Chesed (lovingkindness), Tiferet (beauty) and Gevurah(strength or justice). If Chesed is muted ("clogged") then Gevurah will be comparatively strengthened and the "see-saw" that constitutes this triad is unbalanced toward "toughness" or stern justice.

If we "mute" this trait then we will tend to restore the balance which will cause Tiferet to "resonate" - achieving an increase in the "beauty of the heart!" This increase will in turn reinforce the dynamic equilibrium established between Chesed and Gevurah by strengthening them both equally. Again however, it's not about the end result. Rather, it is about the journey - the dynamic, ongoing process - the simultaneous being and becoming characterized by the translation "I AM that I Will Be" of Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh. Note how what we have really been discussing in this section relates to what healing is essentially all about. More explicit discussion of this important topic will be taken up another time.

Tesla, Edison and ... Howard Hughes?

Tobias invited in the energies of Nikola Tesla. By now many of you are familiar with at least some of Tesla's work here on earth in the latter part of the 1800's and the early to mid 20th century. No doubt Tesla was a prodigious genius and inventor of the highest order. He experienced much illness growing up as a child and some speculate that this might have contributed to a reputed ability to photographically envision many of his inventions in extraordinary detail - like viewing a set of blueprints. But his ability to control these visions was believed to be involuntary - they would come up with just a word or idea.

As an adult, Tesla would then be able to envision complex technologies and be able to assemble plans of what he actually saw in his mind's eye. His electrical engineering skills were savant-like. Yet he apparently struggled with mental-psychological issues a good part of his life and appeared to suffer an initial nervous breakdown when he was 22.

In his later years he exhibited obsessive thought behaviors - what the medical community refers to today as obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) - a very serious condition that can lead to profound impairment of an individual's lifestyle and presumably related to anxiety and panic - another very serious condition that is on the rise today.

I suspect that the relationship between Tesla's psychological profile and his prodigious achievements has the potential to tell us a great deal about those achievements, much like the fact that most individuals who are diagnosed today along the so-called autism spectrum exhibit (usually) a single extraordinary talent/ability such a s calendar-calculating (provide any date in history and the individual will tell you immediately the day of the week it occurred on), music or art ability, or some information-memorization capacity that is way above average (e.g., knowing everything about modern cars).

As I write about this, another prodigious genius with arguably a similar personality profile comes to mind - Howard Hughes. Those of us in the baby-boomer generation may remember back to the early 1970's the reports of the reclusive, isolated Hughes living in the penthouse of a Las Vegas hotel - apparently no one saw him for years and I can remember newspaper reports in my hometown newspaper The New York Daily News (famous for its sensationalist, tabloid-like headlines even today). Hughes was an extraordinary inventor in his day (mainly of aircraft and oil/gas extraction apparatus) and became one of the world's wealthiest individuals.

One of the secrets to his wealth was that he was willing to take extraordinary risks - gamble on something that he "knew" within himself would work - and he too, like Tesla, was filled with numerous, advanced technological and engineering ideas. Hughes probably would be diagnosed with bipolar disorder today - particularly the manic subtype of the disorder (bipolar disorder is characterized by an imbalance between mania and depression). Yet he also was not always cut out for the "follow through" processes that involved the business end of actually bringing the products to market. Many projects ended up abandoned but despite that Hughes became extremely wealthy. Hughes in his later years apparently became severely germ-phobic - a form of OCD - and this led to his increasing isolation from society and human contact.

What we see in both these men is that they were in a sense "idea portals." Almost like the flow of a river, these men "jumped in the water" and were able to tap into that flow in their own unique way. However, the river flow became a torrent to both of them in time as if a spigot was thrown wide open. Their "systems" then became out of balance and their human incarnations were overwhelmed by the resulting energy-information influx.

Getting back to Tesla, he worked for Thomas Edison for about one year before striking out on his own. They no doubt became rivals as Edison attempted to promote the production and societal use of direct current (DC) while Tesla won the battle with his developments of alternating current (AC) which accounts for the vast majority of the way electricity has been utilized by society since the early 1900's. Edison had invented the phonograph in 1877 and focused on pushing its technology (that of cylindrical recording media), the music recorded and its marketing.

As pointed out in the recently published book Wizard of Menlo Park about Edison, the rival Victor Company developed its own version of the phonograph, later known as "the Victrola" (I'm sure several of you still remember your grandma's version - I do) which far exceeded Edison's invention in popularity and market share. The Victrola used flat disc ("record") format for recording and playing sound. Edison was a great inventor of course, but arguably an even greater showman. He developed a persona that became legend! Tesla went off on his own, working for a while with George Westinghouse who helped Tesla win the "war of the currents" against Edison. Nevertheless, it nearly bankrupted both Edison's company and Westinghouse. Edison recovered and flourished in his own way and his inventions are legendary. Tesla flourished in his own way and as we know, great attention is once again focused on him!

We know that Tesla made contributions to the invention of certain telephone-related devices involving amplifiers (including the loudspeaker), the induction motor, electrical arcing devices, fluorescent lighting, the Tesla coil (a magnifying signal transmitter), various devices that use rotating magnetic fields, AC long distance electrical transmission systems, systems for wireless communication (thereby precursing cellular telephony), the radio, some robotic type devices (obviously way ahead of their time!), the AND logic gate (absolutely essential in solid state devices and integrated circuits which are the components of personal computers), various electrotherapy devices, some types of turbines, a certain type of X-ray tube, devices related to charged particle beams (which exist today in military as well as medical applications such as the so-called "proton knife" used to excise cancerous tumors), devices for amplifying voltages and for producing high voltage discharges (as portrayed in the recent movie "The Prestige"), a patent in 1928 (his last) for the design of one of the earliest vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft, concepts for electric vehicles (advanced today by the Tesla Motors Company), and many more!

Late in his life, Tesla became focused on the quantum theory of light and its relationship with electromagnetism and with general relativity (spacetime physics). Specifically he was exploring how light and electromagnetism could possibly warp spacetime. This led to the notion of creating a "wall of light" by manipulating electromagnetic waves in a certain pattern. This mysterious wall of light would enable time, space, gravity and matter to be altered at will, and engendered an array of Tesla proposals that included anti-gravity airships, teleportation, and time travel. He was not a supporter of Einstein's ideas of gravitation, however in retrospection it appears that Tesla was mistaken about them - at least science has vindicated Einstein's general theory of relativity time and time again. This by no means indicates that warping time, space and even matter (to create anti-gravity) is not possible. Many physicists today are chasing after these!

No doubt Tesla understood the principle of universal energy abundance discussed above. He reportedly said this: "Electric power is everywhere present in unlimited quantities and could drive the world's machinery without the need for coal, oil or gas …". Tobias reminded us of something we have suspected or possibly known for the better part of the last 34 years (recall the oil embargo days of 1974) - fossil fuel sources are running out faster than we'd like to believe and we are almost to crisis levels. If old Nikola is going to help us Shaumbra, now's a good time for it! Just as Tesla, Edison and Houdini formed a team to do the work as Tobias asserted, so it is now that only through a team effort will the work of expanding into the New Energy take place.

Walking backwards in time

Tobias then discussed the concept of walking backwards in time. This is not exactly the same as moving back into your past. In a sense it is saying that we are already in the New Energy. And it is also saying for example that we have already ascended. In quantum physics-philosophy there is a hypothesis referred to as the "many worlds." We know from quantum theory that a system is comprised of many possible outcomes or paths, each one existing as a distinct potential. Let's take the behavior of an "ordinary" electron. Just like light photons, electrons have a fundamental wave and particle nature ("wave-particle duality").

If we were to use an apparatus that could take a measurement of an electron's position in space what we would be observing is its particle "personality." Based on Werner Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle (Heisenberg was one of the founding physicists in the development of quantum theory), when we measure the position of an electron it comes at the expense of knowledge about the momentum of that electron (its mass times its velocity). The wave nature of the electron is described by a "wave-function of probabilities or possibilities" (a real, yet abstract mathematical wave as opposed to a water or electromagnetic / "physical" wave) that cannot be directly observed.

That wave is an entity consisting of a very large set of possible states that the electron could "select" when we use an instrument to observe it (this statement implies that physical "reality" and consciousness have relations - woo hoo! ;-) - welcome to the weird, wacky world of quantum mechanics!). The Many Worlds hypothesis says that each one of these possibilities is more than a potential that COULD occur. It is essentially a state that DOES occur - each as its own real and distinct world, but we only experience one out of the entire set - the one we choose to observe in the now. One may also consider these worlds as dimensions of a multidimensional omniverse.

This concept however is really not a new idea. Yes, you guessed it - the Kabbalists of old were very well-familiar with it. In fact, one of the meanings of the verb form of the word Kabbalah (kabel), the related verb form of the word in Hebrew is hikbal, which means *to make parallel.* The ancient wisdom masters understood that there exists many worlds or pathways available to each of us that run parallel - meaning they exist fully and simultaneously together - and furthermore that we are the "agents" that get to choose in the now moment which particular path we will traverse. This implies of course that these paths are readily available to us - accessible based on our choice.

So in a sense, events that occur in "the future" of these worlds are already a "done deal." Since there is always a large set of them for someone to choose which one to consciously experience in the now, then this indicates that certain potential outcomes are already available. This leads naturally to the strategy of walking backward through time from a path one has pre-selected and from a "future" outcome along that path.

Tobias said this: "Merlin understood this whole concept of walking backwards through time. It is a very simple concept. In a sense you could say that you have already arrived. We said several years ago, you've already ascended. You have already arrived in the New Energy. You have already arrived at the total reintegration of all of your aspects. And you have arrived at this whole new relationship between your Self, your soul, your physical body - every part of you - a new and holistic relationship. You've already arrived there."

Interesting that Tobias discusses this concept in concert with Merlin right after discussing the relationship between Tesla, Edison and Houdini - two scientist-engineers and a magician. The topic of the relationship between science and magic is no doubt an important one - also touched on in the recent film The Prestige. The renowned science fiction writer and visionary Arthur C. Clark had this to say on the subject: "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." By now it is obvious that before many technologies were manifested (e.g., air flight, the automobile, space travel, personal computers, to name a few) there were a majority of individuals who dismissed their possible development by asserting that they exist only in the realm of magic, rather than being scientifically feasible in any sense.

Clearly some concepts that we consider science fiction today will no doubt become science reality in time. Possible examples: time travel, matter transportation, transluminal space travel (beyond the speed of light), certain advancements in robotics technology and artificial intelligence. Perhaps taping into and utilizing zero point energy is just right around the corner.

Tobias went on to describe the procedure of how to actually walk backwards in time: "You make the choice first. You come to the finish line first because, you've chosen it, and then you go backwards through time to see what it was like to get there. A very simple principle. You do it all the time, you just don't realize it (my emphasis). You get up in the morning and you say, 'I'm going to arrive at work.' You have made a choice and in a sense it has already been created. You will arrive at work. Now, what does the experience of going to your job look like?"

Several things are suggested here. One is that we must make a conscious choice. But what is that choice? It is twofold: first we choose to ACCEPT (another translation for the word Kabbalah by the way!) that these parallel paths (realities) indeed exist and are already laid out - that is they are a "done deal." Your acceptance of this makes it real for you - and here is where magic and science merge. Here is where magic becomes real! Once you are "in" that process (which utilizes gnost by the way), then you are within the "river flow" as all that is left is to be present in the now moment - meaning you have become (you are) the experience of walking backward in time. In other words you are "I AM That I Will Be."

Next you choose which "door" to actually open - that is where you're going to arrive. Following this step and related to the first choice is "gnosting" that your having arrived there is a fate de compli. It is your reality and so you have made it your destiny! Not only that but in essence you ARE your destiny - it is no longer separate from you. Any thoughts or appearances to the contrary are merely illusion - untruth if you will. Finally, nothing needs to be done since you just experience - you are along for the ride, with Spirit doing the driving.

The "trick" if there is one - is to be completely resolute, in synch with your chosen outcome, completely aligned with it. That of course requires more than mere wishful, needful or even desirous thinking (or any other type of thinking). It also requires more than just directing your thoughts to it. As we know the thoughts are not sufficient. We must go beyond them - to the realm of the integration of body, mind, Spirit and gnost - to BE inside the realm of feeling/experiencing which is the "home" of Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh. You must merge and be one with the outcome. We will have more to say on this topic, and about the related Law of Attraction in other columns.

There is one cautionary note to this. Once you make your selections you must let them go and allow them to just BE! Thereafter, if you try to control it or "make it happen" it's not going to. That is not how the mechanics of the system in creation works. Letting it go doesn't mean forfeiting it by any means. In a sense the issue is that you neither need to let something go, nor embrace something that already IS. Is-ness implies "you have it" after all. The system in creation is a parsimonious one - nothing is wasted and redundant messages only exist if they're absolutely essential to functioning - which means there really are no true redundancies in the system! There are no mistakes - Spirit gets it "right" the first time and every time! So if something already exists there is no purpose or reason for us to control it or "make it happen."

Moving beyond the spacetime "box"

Once someone has gone through the process of choosing which possible world or path to pursue and have made it their own they can use another tool to view the "landscape" that results from their choice. This is sort of a feedback or verification step. One does this by first recognizing the existence of dimensions beyond the 4 of our everyday spacetime reality. Scientists have certainly discovered anew dimensions above 4 that mystics and others have been aware of for thousands of years. If we imagine ourselves moving into the 5th dimensional reality (take a trip up to Angel's Peak) we will realize that we have a "bird's eye" view of the entire 4D world. In other words we "see" all of space and all of time - past, present, and future - almost like taking a snapshot of the "eternal now moment."

From this vantage point the ACTUAL future is observable. This helps to verify and therefore strengthen our choices. This is true creatorship! But if we backtrack into old, conditioned, habitual thought patterns, such as "this is not real because it hasn't happened yet" then of course we are in a sense "uncreating" the outcome - it becomes less likely to be fulfilled for us.

This brings us back to the topic of belief networks. We're talking here about dispelling and releasing old ones that no longer serve us and then building up new ones to replace them. For example, an old one would be "I cannot change my past" or "future events do not exist yet and so I cannot walk backwards in time from them." We can let those go and install new ones in their place as discussed above such as "I can choose a future event and walk backwards from there." It all has to do with our preconceived beliefs about time. But in a sense from this 5th and higher dimensional viewpoint, we can see that our notions of past vs. present vs. future time - that each is quite different in character from the other two ("the past is fixed and unchangeable, the future hasn't happened yet so it is not real and all that we have left is the now") gets dispelled. From this new standpoint all spacetime events are observable and transformable. In a sense our old notion ceases to exist and is replaced with an opening up of our consciousness.

Tobias said it this way: "Basically, there is no time. Time is an artificial creation by humans to help understand how to get from one moment to the next in their daily journey. Time... if you all took off your watches and if you all were sitting in a totally closed-off room where you didn't see the sun or the moon, you would lose this whole sense of time, the ticking of the minutes and the hours, and you would understand that time is just a belief system - the time that you have divided energy into. In reality, and definitely in the other realms, what you would call time is a matter of sequence of events that takes place, or a sequence of what we call points of separation that take place. It is a series of choices or sequences that build one upon the other. But because the final choice has already been made, the sequence of events, in a sense, is just walking backwards through time … The creator can choose how they want to experience how they got there in the first place."

You are worthy by your commanding presence, not by what you think/believe you can control

Many of us tend to get hung up on decision making or on seeing "the present" reality because we are ambivalent about our worthiness to wanting/needing - this coming from the ego - and what constitutes a viable soul desire. The ego gets the soul "hung up" on the question of whether or not one is worthy or entitled to have something that they have already perceived that they lack. That perception in itself constitutes a self-fulfilling prophecy. One lacks because one has taken the "glass half empty" camera perspective - they perceive that something is amiss in their life. Therefore something is indeed amiss! Understanding from the totality of one's being that they are Spirit - they are ascended and have assumed their true Mastership, then no questions of self-worthiness are present - they simply cease to exist in the now consciousness.

The ego, built up from our belief networks persists in our ideas about accomplishing things through our trying to control them. As we mentioned before, the system in creation is not one that works optimally through "making things happen" - by deliberate procedural action steps that one controls or mechanically carries out. The system in creation works on energetic dynamic principles that are not a direct effect of deliberate, premeditated actions taken. They are an indirect or side effect of Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh! The joint concept of "Commanding Presence" becomes important here. Spirit does not control. Spirit commands by Her very presence. In Hebrew, the Divine Presence - which relates to the feminine aspect of Divinity - is known as Shekhinah. This is our Mother - Amma. In Kabbalah, the Shekhinah is "The Queen of Creation."

Just imagine that you have been invited to Buckingham Palace to have tea with the Queen of England. Can you imagine sitting with her and just feeling the energy of her presence? Come on now, you know that at least you would feel a sense of awe! (hey I'm from Brooklyn and I know I would feel it!). Now, take a moment here to imagine yourself entering the royal chamber of the Divine King and Queen of Creation. The Queen is in her finest raiment, wearing her crown and shimmering jewels and carrying her royal scepter. Her beauty and her presence are in a word - glorious! Have you ever heard the term "Sheckinah Glory?" We learned that the word in Hebrew for glory is kavod - as in Kavod Adonai - the Glory of God. We are talking about unfathomable, boundless energy here, characterized by the glory of Spirit's presence.

That presence of course happens to be yours too - it is of and within you - and its glory is yours as well. Feel it, "gnost" it and you need never control anything/anyone via the mind/thought/ego ever again. As one awakens in awareness and consciousness the energy of their glorious commanding presence precedes them always - as one so chooses to choose that for them self.

Tobias had this to say in this regard: "We're not picking on the mind. We're saying there's many things far grander. Consciousness, your wholeness, your centeredness, your beingness, whatever you want to call it, transcends the mind and actually the mind doesn't matter. It's not trying to hold on. It's not trying to say that it is the highest form. You're going to see this interesting trend take place with the opening of consciousness, but how people limit it in their mind. And then you're going to see the - how to say - as the energy backs up, it has a tendency to explode on itself. That is why we say to you once again, the work you do as teachers, the work you do as energy movers, and the work you do as Shaumbra is so vitally important. Because they're going to need it. They're going to need it."

"Do not compromise." Be authentically you instead!

In the new energy Tobias reiterates that you can't not be that which you are and that which you came to earth to achieve. In this - you effectively have no choice! New Energy will be expressed regardless. You cannot "go home again" - that's because you already are home. Therefore do not pretend you are somewhere else, or are someone else. No point in running or hiding from who you are. No point floating down "denial river" ;-). "Resistance is futile" so why waste time and energy? Be authentically you.

To do that one must take responsibility for them self - for their drive, their truth, their "strangeness", their inner gnost. We must be willing to face Spirit and declare hineni - I AM Present and I hear! No more excuses, no more self-rationalizations, no more small-self serving mental-masturburtory doubt. For a long time I semi-complained that I felt I was being pushed by Spirit - She had a hand on my back pushing me "out there" whenever I wanted to run and hide - a bit like Jonah when Spirit told him to go to Ninevah and tell the people to clean up their act. But as scripture makes abundantly clear - there is no place Spirit is not. We can run but we cannot hide.

No compromise does not necessarily imply consciously competing with another, nor does it imply not being cooperative. In fact, compromising the self may very well impair one's ability to be cooperative. Let's take the subject of team chemistry/comraderie in a sport such as basketball. I've talked about the hoops Master - Michael Jordan. He was a great player almost immediately from the time he was first drafted into the NBA in 1984. However, it took his team, the Chicago Bulls 6 years until they won their first of 6 NBA Championships with Jordan. What made the difference?

Jordan had to learn that his greatness alone, in isolation from his teammates, would not be sufficient to win. That's because in the world of basketball, teams win or lose, not individual players. Jordan had to learn how to help bring out the best from his teammates and they in turn would do that as well once Jordan acquired the requisite leadership skills needed to get that message across - all in order for the Bulls to "get over the hump" to achieve success. He had to mute his own tendency to "take the Bull by the horns" and teach others how to bring out the best from within themselves. By recognizing the value of mutual cooperation he not only did not compromise himself, he recognized the essential truth of the "game of life" - that no person is an island - that we either swim or sink, together.

We swim together when we are cooperative with each other AND we are authentically ourselves. Being who we are is never a zero sum game (meaning I gain something of value because someone loses an equal amount - energy feeding) - it is "win-win" for every one who plays together with integrity, honor and respect. Note the implications of this "win-win" dynamic - brand New Energy is manifested as a result - it is sourced anew into the All That Is.

And finally ...

Once again I see I've managed to serve up a huge word salad this month. ;-) Hopefully you found it at least digestible if not grandly sumptuous! I actually counted 25 additional topics that I listed in my outline that I didn't get to this time. Somehow I have a feeling some will appear in this column later.

I know some of you ask "why so many words?" Words are important in this life as well as in Kabbalah, along with study. However, experience is much more important than study - something that Kabbalah has repeatedly and consistently taught for the better part of the last 900 years! Kabbalah is ultimately and quintessentially about the experience of Spirit and Spirit can never be "corraled" (known or fully understood) by any words. Study exists for the purpose of serving and enhancing that experience - specifically to increase the sense and feelings of deep joy in one's life. Spirit imbued the life force with joy and we Divine humans have the honor and privilege of partaking in it and sharing it.

My wish for you this day is that you feel and experience that abundant joy which is all around you and within you.

And so it shall be!

Until next time - I AM with you, all-ways
